OUR WHY

House Of Rising Hoopers exists to create opportunities for Ireland's young hoopers to rise.

It's a home for those who eat, sleep, drink basketball, female and male hoopers of every level age 11-18 who have a goal, whether it's to get more minutes on a club team, to get quicker, to make a Regional academy, to represent county or country, to go abroad on Scholarship. Whatever it is, we will support your goal and give you the opportunities to rise to meet it. And in so doing, we will help Irish hoops rise.

We believe and bestow a "hooper's mindset" -- a way of thinking and applying yourself to your goals in the knowledge that if you lock-in, the life opportunities that basketball can open up can be transformational. And the life-habits that a hooper's mindset will enable can be transformative, far beyond the court..

We have been there and done it when it comes to basketball, and now it's time to help others rise on a bigger and better scale with a proven model and 30 years of connections and experience behind us.

OUR TEAM

Ais Sullivan

Former International, Dublin.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Maeve since I was 13 years old. Maeve was my very first Irish team coach in which we won a Four Countries championship. To say Maeve is a great basketball coach is an understatement, I would say she's a great life coach. I learnt so much skills from her through basketball that I was able to use in real life. Maeve works hard through the passion she has to compete and help others get better. I believe she created that in me, to compete no matter what's in front of you but to also have the fire in your belly to always want to get better. #88's

"Emer, I want you to know that I respect and honour all the time you dedicated to making a group of teenager's dreams come true, playing and enjoying the AAU Summer League in America.

For people that have not have the opportunity to meet Emer, she is one of the best coaches that my son has; she is attentive to all the players; she helps and motivates them; she corrects and adapts the exercises to each athlete; she checks that everything is in good condition and always with a smile on her face.

Coach Emer has the knowledge to identify the potential that each player has. Always helping to increase it but from a vision of respect for the player.

Emer, you are one of the most influential people in my son’s life and I hope he still learning beside you."

"Coach Meave didn't just teach my daughter to play great basketball, she has helped shape her character. Every training session and match with coach Maeve has taught her about teamwork, discipline and how to believe in herself. Thank you coach Maeve."

Lisa Clarke

Parent, Drogheda, Ireland.

"Under the tutelage and direction of Maeve, Jessica has grown and developed as a basketball player both in terms of her skill set but also her love of the game. Maeve provides a warmth while coaching. Provides individual feedback, and direction to help each child develop and does so in a fun environment which allows children to enjoy the game."

Maurice Walsh

Parent, Meath, Ireland.

"As Finn progressed in basketball it was clear he needed to increase his strength and conditioning to really bring his game to the next level. Damien provided a program over the last two years that was designed specifically for finn taking into account his age, his fitness goals and the position he played. Damien's coaching was disciplined, organised and enjoyable - it improved Finns physical attributes enormously and has given him enormous confidence going into matches knowing he was physically prepared. Damien always gave encouragement and valuable advice where his program has also helped Finn avoid injuries by building his body at a sustainable rate."
